The three-star hotel is a family-run business since 1937. It dates back to Austria’s imperial period when it served as a popular resting place for coachmen and travelers. Now a gentle hill, the Rennerberg, on which the hotel stands, was very steep and difficult to cross in earlier times.
The suburb Hallwang is located above the roofs of the city, but far from the bustling crowd of the old town’s touristy streets. This scenery country setting is situated ten minutes from the city centre and near the Salzkammergut lake landscape with its mountains, which can be reached conveniently by car on the motorway. A public bus station can be found directly in front of the venue. Also a private parking lot is at disposal for house & restaurant guests at no cost.
The Berghof welcomes its guests to the rustic atmosphere of a traditional Austrian Berghof („mountain hotel“), combined with modern design elements. Different room categories offer the right thing for every taste. Rooms of all categories are very spacious and offer mountain views that can be admired from the balcony.
The international team places great value on hospitality and service to provide a comfortable stay. For a good start into the day a lavish breakfast is prepared and to finish the day off an evening menu for groups is served. A hearty meal at the a la carte restaurant „Das Wiatzhaus“ should not be missed, as well as a visit at the old-school bar „Renate’s“ where a cozy evening is guaranteed. The infrastructure of Hallwang offers bakeries, cafés, supermarket, gym, restaurants and calm hiking trails.
